Stock Market Rally in Retreat / Stock-Markets / Stock Index Trading
Are the bulls waving the white flag?
Maybe things aren't quite that dramatic, but two of my indicators are singing the same tune that I have been for over two weeks now. Not to sound like a broken record, I still think we will see some lower prices in this consolidation before the bulls come back to storm the castle and take over price action once again.

Stock Market Not Quite Ready to Rollover Yet / Stock-Markets / Stock Index Trading
General Commentary: The system remains on a Neutral signal (with a bearish bias).
The markets don't seem quite ready to rollover just yet, but it seems that a corner was turned this past week.

Stock Market Top Requiring Time to Develop / Stock-Markets / Stock Index Trading
If a market top is developing, it will take several weeks to do so as the bullish extremes of the last several months need to be unwound. I have been stating the following for several weeks now: 1) the greatest gains are behind us; 2) the markets are to trade in a range with an upward bias; 3) there will be a bid under the market; 4) it will be tough to short or bet against this market for the foreseeable future.

Stock Market Critical Support Holds..... Consolidation Continues... / Stock-Markets / Stock Index Trading
A very interesting week has concluded with the market doing its usual number of head fakes both up and down, but with the greatest frustration, unquestionably felt by the bears who really had their hands around the neck of the bulls but simply couldn't get the job done. Something that has taken place many times over the past many weeks.

Stock Market Hits Major Resistance, A Time for Caution and Respect / Stock-Markets / US Stock Markets
It has been a rally with no significant upside resistance for the S&P 500 ... until now.
In 2007, the market started its journey down in a ride where many investors where afraid to jump off of the moving train. Since March of this year, many have left their fear behind as the S&P moved up once again in a rally with Government and Fed rhetoric singing songs of "the recession is over".

Prechter Stands Alone Again... He's Done the Math / Stock-Markets / Stocks Bear Market
Neil Beers writes: So Bob Prechter is bearish again.
That may be no surprise to some, but recall that Prechter was about the only bull on February 23 of this year when he covered the short position he had recommended on July 17, 2007. That was nearly two years later and 800 points lower in the S&P. And the Daily Sentiment Index (DSI) reading for the S&P had gotten down to only 3% bulls!

Will the Stock Market Also Defy September History? / Stock-Markets / Stocks Bear Market
The market has done quite a job of ignoring its history so far this year.
It experienced a sizable loss of 25% in January and February, during its usually positive winter months, not launching into a sizable rally until March (while still in its historically favorable period).

Stock Market Bulls Jump in on Light Volume / Stock-Markets / Stock Index Trading
We continue to be patient with our positions moving slightly against us. The very light trading volume seen makes it difficult to believe in this modest move. Our BIAS is still bullish so we continue to monitor the market moves to determine whether we will be forced to move back into a long position.

The Rate of Inflation and the Stock Market Rally? / Stock-Markets / Stock Index Trading
The million dollar question what is real? The rate of inflation or a new stock market rally?
We are bombarded on CNBC or Bloomberg with one speaker after another stating… No INFLATION! The Rate of Inflation is nothing…or the average inflation will be minus x %. At the same time we hear speakers after speakers discuss green shoots …that the recession is over etc.

Unwinding..... Stock Market Bearish Case Takes A Bit Of A Hit... / Stock-Markets / Stock Index Trading
The bearish case, which just a few days ago, looked pretty good, now has a bit of a problem. Let me first say that the bearish case is far from dead. There are lots of possibilities out there that can play out bearishly but the near term picture has changed a bit. The biggest headache for the bears is the fact that we had some very overbought daily charts with some nasty negative divergences in place. These charts have really unwound most of the overbought conditions and the Macd's have thus pulled way down, working off those nasty divergences.

1930's Depression Bear Market a Plausable Reality for Todays Stock Market / Stock-Markets / Stocks Bear Market
Half Empty circa 1930
In similar fashion to the present wisdom held by the majority of professionals, it is with certainty that the majority of those embedded in the ’29 quagmire viewed their 48% V-shape rally in the Dow as the start of a full economic recovery, an end to the crisis, and a sure sign of a permanent return to prosperity.

Banking Sector Practices, Sure It’s Legal… But Is It RIGHT? / Stock-Markets / Credit Crisis 2009
Folks, I’d like to ask your indulgence today. Typically we reserve these pages for in-depth analysis of the stock market and economy. But I’ve grown FED UP with the complete lack of coverage that one area of the current crisis has received.
Ever since the Financial system started imploding in July 2007, I’ve heard countless folks talk about liquidity, bull markets, bear markets, the dollar, bailouts, etc. But there’s one thing I’ve heard virtually NO ONE talk about. That is:
