By: Dylan_Moran

Creating content is one of the best ways to generate traffic to your website. Doing so can lead to more subscribers and customers, making content a necessity to survive in the digital marketplace.

While many business owners, marketers, and webmasters understand the value of content, not everyone is doing it well. Some may be doing it well but are not delivering enough content to keep their target audience coming back for more.

By: Troy_Bombardia

The S&P 500 has made a 61.8% retracement and is now stalling. This is completely normal. Most 10%+ corrections have a 61.8% retracement and then a pullback or retest of the lows before heading higher.

Stock Markets Around the World are Crashing. What Not to Worry About? / Stock-Markets / Stock Markets 2018

By: Troy_Bombardia

Financial media’s favorite headline is “here’s why you should be worried”. Blind “worrying” and “concern” is good for their business because it drives pageviews and ad $$$.

Certain markets around the world remain in a downtrend right now, namely emerging markets and oil.

Instead of “worrying”, let’s look at the facts.

Let’s determine the stock market’s most probable direction by objectively quantifying technical analysis. For reference, here’s the random probability of the U.S. stock market going up on any given day, week, or month.

What Is the Difference Between Democrats and Republicans? / Politics / US Politics

By: Barry_M_Ferguson

In Minnesota, democrat Keith Ellison had domestic assault charges lodged against him. His accuser filed a police report and exhibited bruising around her face. The accuser’s own adult son verified the assault. The voters of Minnesota elected Mr. Ellison as their attorney general.

In New York’s District 14, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez won the unopposed House of Representative seat after republicans withdrew support of their candidate, Anthony Pappas. Why? Mr. Pappas was accused of domestic violence. Apparently ‘believe the women’ only applies to democratic women with an ax to grind against republicans. So, logically, accusations lodged by women are fungible and dependent on political affiliation?

Cyclical Commodities Continue to Weaken, Gold Moves in Relation / Commodities / Commodities Trading

By: Gary_Tanashian

Crude Oil and Industrial Metals continue downward. This is significant per this NFTRH monthly chart showing these items and the broad CRB itself having hit trend lines from the 2008 highs. These pullbacks from long-term trend lines are notable and qualify cyclical commodities as risk indicators for the cyclical macro.

5 Things That Precede Gold Price Major Bottoms / Commodities / Gold and Silver 2018

By: Jordan_Roy_Byrne

The recent weakness in Gold and gold mining stocks is not over. In fact, we are worried about another leg down getting underway.

If that comes to pass, we are positioned to profit from it. But I digress.

Long-term oriented investors and speculators should be aware of the near term trends but they should also be aware of the conditions that will lead to a shift from a bear market to a bull market.

Here, we focus on five factors that precede major bottoms in precious metals.

Big US Stocks Q3 Fundamentals / Stock-Markets / Stock Markets 2018

By: Zeal_LLC

The widely-held mega-cap stocks that dominate the US markets are just wrapping up another blockbuster earnings season.  Sales and profits soared largely due to Republicans’ massive corporate tax cuts.  Still these lofty stock markets are vulnerable to serious downside, as October’s brutal plunge proved.  Such extreme revenue and earnings growth cannot persist, and valuations remain in dangerous bubble territory.

Four times a year publicly-traded companies release treasure troves of valuable information in the form of quarterly reports.  Required by the US Securities and Exchange Commission, these 10-Qs contain the best fundamental data available to investors and speculators.  They dispel all the sentimental distortions inevitably surrounding prevailing stock-price levels, revealing the underlying hard fundamental realities.

How "Free Money" Helped Create Sizzling Housing Market & REIT Gains / Housing-Market / US Housing

By: Dan_Amerman

Housing prices and the associated REIT returns have worked very differently in the United States since the recession of 2001. The increasing financialization of the real estate markets by Wall Street, and the aggressive and unconventional interventions by the Federal Reserve over that time, have combined in multiplicative fashion to produce new and volatile sources of housing profits and losses.

One such change has been the creation of an extremely powerful profit engine for housing, that most real estate investors have not been taking into account. Indeed, there is a strong mathematical case to be made that "yield curve spread compression" has supported and enabled the substantial majority of housing price gains for homeowners and investors on a national average basis since the beginning of 2014.

One Direction More Likely for Bitcoin Price / Currencies / Bitcoin

By: Mike_McAra

The recent period of sideways trading may make traders impatient or even discouraged altogether. At any rate, those who crave more action in Bitcoin could be driven out of the market. But this is no time to bet on Bitcoin staying docile.

If the recent months haven’t exactly been rosy for Bitcoin traders, there are avenues which might offer more optimistic news. Unlikely avenues, perhaps. A report by Morgan Stanley suggests that Bitcoin might have become an asset class for institutional investors. In an article on CoinDesk, we read:

Institutional investors are increasingly getting involved in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies – while the number of retail investors in the space is staying stagnant – according to a new report by Morgan Stanley.

A Worldwide Debt Default Is A Real Possibility / Interest-Rates / Global Debt Crisis 2018

By: John_Mauldin

Is debt good or bad? The answer is “Yes.”

Debt is future spending pulled forward in time. It lets you buy something now for which you otherwise don’t have cash yet.

Whether it’s wise or not depends on what you buy. Debt to educate yourself so you can get a better job may be a good idea. Borrowing money to finance your vacation? Probably not.

The problem is that many people, businesses, and governments borrow because they can. It’s been possible in the last decade only because central banks made it so cheap.

3 Triggers That Could Push This Sell-Off into a Financial Crisis / Stock-Markets / Financial Markets 2018

By: John_Mauldin

There’s very real possibility the global economy breaks down in the next six months.

Anything could trigger a crisis, and it could well be something no one now foresees. But here are my three candidates.

Corporate Credit Crisis

US companies are way more leveraged now than they were ahead of the 2008 crisis.

Gold Asks: Are US Bonds Overvalued? / Commodities / Gold and Silver 2018

By: Arkadiusz_Sieron

“We are in a bond market bubble that’s beginning to unwind.” This is the statement of Alan Greenspan. Is he right? We invite you to read our today’s article about the US bond market and find out whether it is in bubble or not – and what does it all mean for the precious metals market.

Bond yields are in an upward trend since 2016/2017. And they hit the accelerator again last month. The 10-year Treasury yield topped 3.2 percent, the highest level since May 2011. Other yields have also increased recently: on 30-year Treasuries hit 3.40 in October, while on 5-year US government bonds jumped above 3 percent, as one can see in the chart below.

Here’s Why 10%+ US Treasury Bond Yields Are a Real Possibility / Interest-Rates / US Bonds

By: John_Mauldin

The US Treasury has closed the books on Fiscal Year 2018, which was another debt-financed failure.

The federal government spent above $4.1 trillion in FY 2018. It had to borrow $779 billion on budget and a few hundred billion more off-budget.

And over 40% of the on-budget deficit went simply to pay $325 billion in interest on previously-issued debt.

I hope so… because we have a realistic shot to make roughly 140% on our money in just a few months.

Stock markets don’t often hand us opportunities like this. I study markets for a living and I see one setup like it a year, max.

The Los Angeles Measure for a City-owned Bank -- A Valiant Effort! / Politics / Banking Stocks

By: Ellen_Brown

I've gotten inquiries on the outcome of the Los Angeles ballot measure to approve a city-owned bank , so thought I would send a quick update. Unfortunately it did not pass, but it did get 42 percent of the vote. It was a remarkable outcome considering that the dynamic young Public Bank LA advocacy group effectively only had a month to educate 4 million voters on what a public bank is and why passing the measure was a good idea. If they had had another month, the bill could well have passed.
