Peter Krauth, editor of Gold Resource Investor, examines the commodity supercycle and the role recency bias plays in investment decisions. Recency bias is a funny thing. It's human nature to expect the near future to look like the recent past.
But we all know that's not how things always play out.
And that can be costly, even dangerous, for investors.
Take long term bonds, for example. Ten-year Treasury yields have more than tripled, from 0.54% to 1.66% since last July. Does that mean the 40-year bond bull market is dead?
Tough to say, or course. We'll only know that for sure with hindsight. You know… recency bias.
If nothing else, the bond market is telling us price inflation is becoming a thing again, notwithstanding what the Fed might be telegraphing.

A few weeks ago, I saw the above quote in Jeff Thomas’ article Learning from Ants, and it has been reverberating in my mind ever since. It is a perfect analogy for what has been happening in this country for years, with the jar lately being shaken at a rate faster than a Biden vote count increase at 3:00 am in a swing state. Everyone in this country, and the world, is at each other’s throats. Who is shaking the jar? Why are they shaking the jar? Why do they want us fighting each other?
If they keep us focused on fighting each other, they believe we will not notice their reprehensible criminality, as they manipulate the masses through psychological engineering and the employment of propaganda techniques to push their desired narrative. If you ask someone – who is shaking the jar? – they will likely answer based on the standard left vs right, liberal vs conservative, white vs black paradigm which has been created by those benefiting from conflict. It is always a safe bet to follow the money when trying to identify the culprits.

Where do we stand on the path towards your desktop computer becoming more intelligent than you! Currently the best retail desktop GPU is the Nvidia RTX 3090 that carries an MSRP of $1500, though the crypto boom means right now it is very difficult to get hold of and even then prices start at $2000 typically rising to $2200. Still it is easier to obtain then the lower skew RTX 3080 that us supposed to sell for $699 but instead available supply is typically being sold on on ebay for $1200-$1400!
Nevertheless how does the processing power of an RTX 3090 GPU compare to that of a human brain. The RTX 3090 has 10,496 parallel processors and operates at 1.7ghz. That converts into 36 teraflops of raw processing power.

I have received numerous emails and questions regarding the market’s set up and what to expect after the Triple-Witching event (FOMC, Futures/Options expiration) last week. It appears many traders/investors are seeking some clarity related to price trends and the potential opportunities that are setting up in the US markets right now. In this research article, my research team and I provide some greater detail related to what we believe is likely to happen over the next 5 to 8+ weeks.
Our recent Gann/Fibonacci research article drew quite a bit of attention from readers. Their biggest concern was that we were suggesting a major peak in the markets could setup in early April 2021. We want to be clear about this longer term market setup to make sure our readers and followers fully understand the implications of this technical pattern.
A peak/top could start to setup anytime after April 1, 2021, based on the Gann/Fibonacci research we’ve completed. But, that peak/top setup could also happen anytime between April 2021 and August 2021 (or slightly later). Timing this pattern is not something we can accomplish very easily as the range of dates where this Gann/Fibonacci inflection level exists consists of about 5+ months. The one key factor we continued to stress in that article was to “watch for a technical breakdown in price above the $379 to $380 price level on the SPY”. Many readers may be able to comprehend what we are trying to say by this statement, but we’ll try to help clarify it by showing what it would look like on a price chart.
