Detailed Technical Analysis with Chart studies from IndianStockCharts.com
Previous Week:
Last Week Nifty failed to make a new high and followed to the downside as was stated in our last week's analysis. We clearly stated that if the ratio of Indian Vix to Nifty touches/crosses above 0.004, then be rest assured that the correction has begun. And so it did. Almost all of last week Nifty was in correction mode with no real buying strength witnessed across the board.

India’s Emerging Ambitions / Economics / India
The Indian government plans to sell a stake of about 10% from the state-owned Manganese Ore (India) Ltd as part of the government’s drive to sell steel-related state assets. Manganese Ore is the nation’s largest manganese producer and meets about 65% of the domestic needs. The company, meanwhile, has plans to ramp up its ferro-manganese production capacity. India Economy and Stock Market Relentless Surge / Economics / India
India has been on a relentless surge, both in the real economy and the equity markets. 100% return in 12 months is not something one would have had expected in April 2009, as Fund Managers, Hedge Funds and Private Equity funds were running for cover. Index had just dipped below 9,000 in 2009.
In fact Rahul Bhasin (MD, Barings PE) was on record: India Sensex Fair Value 7,500.

India Bombey Sensex Stock Market Index Forecast to Touch 50,000 by 2015 / Stock-Markets / India
Dr. Alok Aggarwal writes: On January 8, 2008, Bombay stock market’s key index, SENSEX (Sensitive Index, which is composed of 30 companies), touched an all-time high of 20,873 and almost all analysts expected it to touch 25,000 before the end of 2008. Indeed, the market sentiment was overly buoyant and an uninterrupted rise of the Indian stock market seemed inevitable to market analysts, stockbrokers, businessmen, politicians, as well as the ordinary man. None of these analysts suspected that SENSEX would drop precipitously or that the Indian Rupee (INR), which had also appreciated to 39 INR to 1 USD, may “drop like a rock” with respect to the US Dollar (USD) and other currencies.

Why I am Bullish on India Economy and Stock Market 2010 / Stock-Markets / India
India is 1/10 th the size of US economy and EU economy and yet holds far more promise and resillience than both these economies combined. While the world focuses on Chinese growth albeit with skepticism and caution at the numbers being thrown out, no such aspersions have ever been cast at India. Indian growth has been a transparent and extremely well led, consumer and infra story.

Geo-Strategic Chessboard Pushing India Towards War With China / Politics / India
Since 1947, India has not fully pledged itself to any camp or global pole during the Cold War and as a result was a founding member of the Non-Aligned Movement (N.A.M.). Since the post-Cold War era that position has eroded. New Delhi has been gradually moving away from its traditional position, relationships, and policies in the international arena for over a decade.

Stock Market Crash Alert for Indian Nifty / Stock-Markets / India
There has been some talk about Markets crashing worldwide from here on. But you also have lots of folks touting the upcoming festive and earnings season to help the market go even higher from here. Neither bears nor bulls are able to make up their minds as to which way to go. However, bears seem to have the upper hand. At least volumes suggest the same with more Put options being traded than call options on the nifty in the last few days.
