Global Warming – Facts Trump Opinions / Politics / Climate Change
The two previous articles which I wrote on the subject of Global Warming were seriously flawed in their science. As a result, I received a wave of emails.
If I offended anyone by having the temerity to talk about a subject in which I am clearly inadequate in my knowledge, I apologise. However, there was a method in my madness – as the following will hopefully reveal:

Monetary Causes of the US Immigration Crisis / Politics / Immigration
There is nothing mysterious about the U.S. immigration crisis, or the presence of twelve million or more illegal aliens, or the fact that many more are coming to a neighborhood near you.
They are coming to the U.S. because they are human beings who have to eat.
They have to eat because they want to live.
They cannot eat and live in their own countries because there are no jobs.

Article V Convention, Are Americans Unready to Boil? / Politics / US Politics
The frog-in-boiling water model helps us understand political upheavals: how citizens wake up early enough (or too late) to respond to social and economic oppression. Sometimes the greed and arrogance of Ruling Classes makes them careless and social waters heat too quickly. Sensing doom, alert citizen-frogs escape or revolt. Or they stay complacent and boil. The Bush Administration has turned the heat up on us, explaining why nearly 75 percent of Americans believe their country is on the wrong track and 70 percent think the economy is worsening.Read full article... Putin's War-whoop: The Impending Clash with Russia and the New Cold War / Politics / Russia
What is a ‘unipolar' world?
It is world in which there is one master, one sovereign--- one center of authority, one center of force, one center of decision-making. And at the end of the day this is pernicious not only for all those within this system, but also for the sovereign itself because it destroys itself from within.
It has nothing in common with democracy, which is the power of the majority in respect to the interests and opinions of the minority.

The Battle of Gaza / Politics / Middle East
In less than 24 hours of fierce street-fighting, Bush's proxy-army in Gaza was routed by armed units of Hamas. It was a stunning defeat for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and for US-Israeli policymakers who have done everything in their power to overturn the “free and fair” election of the Hamas government. For now, Hamas has reestablished its authority in Gaza although Abbas is still working frantically with Bush and Olmert to consolidate his power in the West Bank.

End the Violence in Iraq? End Our Occupation / Politics / Iraq War
Today, my first full day in Amman, Jordan started off sharply. I met the most important person I will meet during this trip. And I was the first American he has agreed to meet with.
This in itself shows that the winds are slowly changing as he himself pointed out during our conversation.

Up and Down the Bush Philosophy / Politics / US Politics
Every president has a political philosophy that guides him and, sometimes, the nation.
George W. Bush believes he has divine inspiration to do what he wants to do, when he wants to do it, and to make his subjects adhere to whatever beliefs he holds for the moment. His political philosophy is a chunk of swiss cheese that is being forced down the throats of a lactose-intolerant nation.

Americans Unready to Revolt, Despite Revolting Conditions / Politics / US Politics
The latest NBC/Wall Street Journal national poll results vividly show a population incredibly dissatisfied with their nation's political system. In other countries in other times such a depressing level of confidence in government would send a signal to those running the government that a major upheaval is imminent. But not here in the USA. Why?Read full article... Read full article...

Swan Song for the Democrats for Supporting the Iraq War / Politics / US Politics
The Democrats did us all a favor by giving Bush his Iraq war-money. After all, the Dems have supported the war from the very beginning. They deserve to be exposed as the phonies they really are.The truth is, no one is surprised by the recent vote. We have one party in America – "the War Party" – the Dems are just a junior partner in that system.

Open Letter to Congressman Ron Paul / Politics / US Politics
You have acknowledged the appropriateness of amending the Constitution. In fact, you introduced legislation for an amendment that would stop giving automatic citizenship to babies born in the U.S. to non-citizen parents. You said: “Our founders knew that unforeseen problems with our system of government would arise, and that's precisely why they gave us a method for amending the Constitution. It's time to rethink birthright citizenship by amending the 14th amendment.”

Bush's New Middle East - Interference in Lebanon / Politics / Middle East
It's hard to know what Bush hopes to accomplish by backing the bloody siege of the Nahr al-Bared refugee camp, but one thing is certain; things are never as they seem. In an interview on Democracy Now last week, investigative reporter Seymour Hersh stated that, Fatah al-Islam — the group of Sunni extremists inside the camp — were getting material support from the Saudis, the Bush administration and members of the Lebanese political establishment.Read full article... How Will The Media Destroy Ron Paul? / Politics / US Politics
We all know the drill by now. Whenever a politician with character and principles throws his hat in the ring the media descends on him like feral hounds on a pork chop. It’ll be no different with Paul. The only difference this time is that we should all be aware of what’s really going on.
Did you see the Republican debates?

Ron Paul, Gold and “L'Infamie” / Politics / US Politics
William Guy Carr, in his book entitled Pawns in the Game , describes how the Powers That Be have throughout history tried to discredit people or institutions that have threatened their power. The strategy described by Mr. Carr is called l'infamie which is French for infamy. Human nature does not alter with the passage of time and with that in mind we have detected the following campaigns of l'infamie.Read full article... Read full article...

China, U.S.: The Strategic Economic Dialogue as a Tool for Managing Relations / Politics / China Economy
As the forth largest economy in the world, the rapid growth of Communist China' military, and economic prominence has both perplexed and intrigued the United States. Stratfor analyst Rodger Baker addresses the two primary economic concerns troubling Washington and Wall Street alike: the Chinese-U.S. trade imbalance, and the floatation of the renminbi, currently pegged at 7.8 Yuan to the dollar, though allowed to fluctuate 2-3%.Washington has identified the currency dilemma as the primary obstacle to improved U.S.- Chinese relations, concluding that the removal of the currency peg will not only permit U.S. exports to be more competitive but also shrink the current trade imbalance.
