This week Donald Trump said he would hit John Deere with a 200% tariff if the agricultural/ construction equipment manufacturer made good on plans to move production to Mexico.
The Republican presidential nominee has frequently said he would punish automakers with a monster tariff if they move to Mexico, but according to Reuters this is the first time he has threatened John Deere.
The company earlier this year announced it was laying off hundreds of employees in the US Midwest and increasing production capacity in Mexico. The decision has upset workers and political leaders, and pushed the issue of tariffs onto the campaign agenda.

What happens to humans when they are no longer able to control their own destiny i.e. become less than wage slaves? For that we look to what the Welfare States have supposedly achieved. Does giving benefits to people help or hinder people? In Britain we have a benefits culture that extends to some 9 million people of working age who for a multitude of reasons do not work. So what happens to those within this sub culture?
Are they seeking ways to better themselves or do the devolve deeper into self pity expecting someone else to do things for them, do those who live on benefits look after the property they live in? Their neighbourhoods? We'll go ask any landlord why they won't rent their properties to those on benefits because they will be a nightmare of unreliability.

Orwell 2024 - AI Equals Loss of Agency / Politics / AI

Humans have fought tooth and nail to gain agency, freedom from the Lords of the Manor but here in the 2020's we are in the process of giving up our agency to the machine intelligence. It means over time humans will become dumber and dumber as the AI will do much of our thinking for us as we perceive the AI to have superior judgment to us mere mortals with limited knowledge whist the AI can call on all of human knowledge.
Already the high priesthood of AI professes that he AI will know us better than ourselves, META already states that it's algorithms can predict a lot about it's users just through analysis of our interactions with it's platforms.

Mentally soft as a sponge Richi Sunak clearly cannot take the pain of being PM any more even though his job is mostly about reading cue cards handed to him by his handlers, nevertheless Richi has thrown in the towel and declared he does not want to do it for another 6 months, he's had his fun playing at being PM and so announced a General Election for the 4th of July, Richi's Independence Day! Can you imagine that this clown has been PM for 575 days! They used to call John Major a dull boring grey man in a grey suit, but this guy Richi has done a worse job than if Mr Bean had been PM! I do not recall anything that this fool has done over the past 575 days as PM! He was never fit to be an MP let alone PM, his primary focus has always been to get to a net worth of £1 billion! Which is fine and dandy but why the hell make the British people suffer for near 2 years in the process? The Tories deserve to DIE an electoral death, the party needs to undergo a major PURGE!

The smoke in mirrors drama in the middle east delivers an opportunity in target stocks Friday following Iran falling face first into the Fourth Reich's (FR) trap, where the fatal mistake was the failed retaliation to the FR blowing up the Iranian Embassy that allowed the FR to target Iranian nuclear facilities in respect of which Iran had to make the choice to either further be played like puppets on a string or pretend that the Israeli attack failed to do any damage, Intelligently Iran chose the later and thus threw up a smoke screen of having successfully shot down a couple of Israeli drones resulting in no damage on the ground, despite the reality that Iran's nuclear facilities will have got hit hard with bunker busting cruise missiles, where further escalation would have suck Iran deeper into an unwinnable conflict that clearly Iran does not have the stomach for or capability for. Lets not forget that the Fourth Reich has murdered over 40.000 Palestinian civilians in implementation of Operation Hannibal, about half of whom are children.

According to the latest data from the FDIC, the U.S. banking system is sitting on $517 billion in unrealized losses due to deteriorating bond portfolios.
Unrealized losses triggered the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank, Signature Bank, and First Republic Bank in 2023.
