Presidential Election's Impact on the Financial Markets / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election
Today let's talk about how elections are influenced by the market. Did you know that in the last century not a single Presidential election has been won by the incumbent party when the market has been down? That may be a very good reason why this rally has stronger legs than I had anticipated. It appears that there is an effort to save the incumbent party from the ravages of the market.Read full article... Read full article...

Why Voting in the U.S. Election is a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME... / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election
The United States likes to portray itself as the bastion of freedom and champion of democracy, but if this were really true then there would be at least 6 or 8 different parties to choose from at election time, and given that it is now a country of over 300 million people a choice of at least 10 different parties would be more appropriate, but instead there are just two. Why is this? The reason comes down to the "concentration of power" issue that we addressed in an earlier article with respect to corporate America and the systematic disenfranchisement of its population.Read full article... Presidential Election Halloween Trick and Treats / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election
There are a lot of scary things in this world, but one of the scariest is that Halloween and the Presidential election are only five days apart. It's hard to miss the parallel between tricks-and-treats and the promises-and-panderings of politicians masquerading as the most caring, most vital, most sincere candidate. While standing behind their lapel flag buttons, they are quick to dress their opponents in something less patriotic.Read full article... Read full article...

Election 2008: A McCain Victory Impact on US Economy / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election
Martin Hutchinson writes: One thing is clear about John McCain's economic policies: They won't be a mere continuation of George W. Bush's policies. They can't afford to be. While Bush's tax cuts have been highly beneficial both to the stock market and to investors directly, the Bush Administration has taken what was a $150 billion federal budget surplus and transformed it into a $400-billion-plus deficit. That's at a time when stock markets and real estate markets have been ebullient, producing lots of bonuses and capital gains to tax.Read full article... Read full article...

Election 2008: Obama or McCain– US May Suffer Either Way / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election
As Barack Obama closes in on the Democratic presidential nomination, investors should focus their minds around one uncomfortable fact: Whether it's Obama or Republican John McCain who wins the White House, expect some policy changes that won't sit well with investors - or with the U.S. economy.
This could make for several rough years for U.S. investments, underscoring yet again the importance of searching out profit plays overseas.

US Presidential Election- John McCain Won't Be Looking for the Union Label / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election
Don't expect any labor union to endorse John McCain for president in the general election. The wounds from the Bush-Cheney Administration are just too deep. But, their reasons aren't because of social justice issues that once pervaded the labor movement, but on bread-and-butter issues that have dominated unions the past five decades.Read full article... US Presidential Election Candidates Spouting CHANGE But Stay the SAME / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election
All of the presidential candidates are spouting “CHANGE” as their “catch-word of the day.” Change the health care system. Change the economy. Change the corporate hold on middle-class Americans. The only thing they're not relying upon to get votes is spare change. A multi-million dollar campaign needs corporate investment—the kind the candidates say they oppose, but most are taking, nevertheless.Read full article... Read full article...
