With Lidl Becoming a Shipowner, Should We Invest in Shipping? / Companies / Sector Analysis

By: Submissions

While commodity prices soar, is it worthwhile to consider investing in the logistics, maritime, and shipping industrial sectors, or is it too risky?

One of Europe's largest discount retailers has set up its own company, Tailwind Shipping Lines, to respond to container shortages. With annual profits of nearly 3 billion euros, the group has plenty of the necessary capital. The objective is to ensure the smooth flow of delivery chains for the group's supermarkets. On the other hand, with sanctions on Russian oil and gas, we could see more tankers crossing the oceans, containing liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Is it Time to Buy Travel Stocks? / Companies / Sector Analysis

By: Stephen_McBride

Are you scared?

If so, you’re not alone. Many investors are freaking out right now.

The S&P 500 recently dropped to its lowest levels since September 2020. Many tech stocks have been cut in half over the past few months.

I regularly chat with dozens of investors. From conversations I’ve had in the past week, I sense folks haven’t been this worried since the onset of COVID-19.

But while much of the world panics, I see an opportunity to buy a specific group of stocks—a group that’s still hated after last year’s “fakeout”…

I’ll tell you all about it in a moment. First, let’s rewind the clock…

By: Stephen_McBride

Did you add payment stocks to your portfolio yet?

A few weeks ago, I showed you why payment stocks are one of my top investment ideas for 2022.

I told you one “threat” weighing on these stocks: the buy-now-pay-later trend.

But there’s another reason some folks in the know are worried…

Today, I’ll share all the details. I’ll explain why it’s only more reason to buy world-class payment stocks.

And I’ll share one of my favorites to buy today…

Should you Buy Payment Disruptor Stocks in 2022? / Companies / Sector Analysis

By: Stephen_McBride

There’s a big “threat” looming over one of my favorite groups of stocks. After years of running higher, these stocks reversed course in 2021…

And are now trading at a steep discount.

But while most folks are getting this story completely wrong…

I’ll show you why this “threat” is presenting a great buying opportunity.

Financial Stocks ETF Sector XLF Pullback Sets Up A New $43.60 Upside Target / Companies / Sector Analysis

By: Chris_Vermeulen

The recent downward price rotation in the Financial Sector ETF (XLF) may have frightened some traders. My research, however, suggests this move is setting up a future bullish price target near $43.60 – a more than +11% move. The end of the year Christmas Rally phase of the markets should drive spending and Q4:2021 expectations powerfully into the first quarter of 2022. Unless something big breaks this market trend, traders should continue to expect a “melt-up” bullish price trend through at least early January 2022.

Be sure to sign up for our free market trend analysis and signals now so you don’t miss our next special report!

The Financial Sector continues to deliver strong earnings and revenue data each quarter. The way consumers and assets prices have reacted after the COVID market collapse says quite a bit about the ability of financial firms to generate future profits. Financial firms are actively engaged in financial services, traditional banking, real estate and other investments, and corporate financing. The rising inflation trends and consumer spending activities suggest the US economy is still rallying after the COVID stimulus and recovery.

Kondratieff Full-Season Stock Market Sector Rotation / Stock-Markets / Sector Analysis

By: Chris_Vermeulen

In part one of this article, I highlighted my opinion that the US and Global markets rolled through a hyper-active Kondratieff full-season rotation throughout the COVID-19 virus crisis. In 2017 and late 2018:

  • Bonds were trading lower
  • Gold and Silver were trading near multi-year lows
  • Real Estate had peaked in the short term as rates started to rise a bit
  • and the Stock market rallied to new all-time highs

All of these are components of a late Spring or early Summer type of Kondratieff Season.

Challenges facing the law industry in 2021 / Companies / Sector Analysis

By: Sumeet_Manhas

After a rather challenging 2020 for everybody, it’s important to take a look at the upcoming challenges that the law industry is facing this year, along with ways to overcome them.

Coronavirus restrictions

The coronavirus pandemic has affected all sectors and industries throughout the past year and a half, with unpredictable changes for many. With many staff furloughed and unable to leave their homes, it’s been tough on the law industry trying to keep ahead with claims and provide exceptional service whilst running with a smaller number of staff.

By: Sumeet_Manhas

The welding industry is looking at a bright future. Specialists expect the market to reach $27.22 billion (USD) by 2027. What is currently driving the market is the increasing investments in the tools that are needed, inside the industry. Also, the pandemic has affected the market in a way that it should force mergers to happen, which is seen as a positive driving force. Here is what you need to know, if you are looking to invest in the welding industry.

GameStop - Retail Traders and Reddit Rattle Wall Street – Market Rotations Rewards / Companies / Sector Analysis

By: Chris_Vermeulen

The big news has been GameStop’s incredible rally from price levels below $10 to an incredibly high price peak near $483.  The ability of retail traders to pull small accounts and actively target heavily shorted stocks, pushing short-sellers into a “short squeeze” has everyone talking about it.  Many people are calling for investigations on both sides saying the system is broken and this should never be allowed to happen.

Gamestop Rally Shakes Up Wall Street

Thanks to the ability of social media and smartphones, people all over the world can now share ideas, content, and excitement about a stock symbol or opportunity in the market in an instant.  Unlike in the 1980s, when individuals had to get on the phone and call their closest circle of friends, social media and technology allow one person to post a message that can instantly be seen by thousands or millions of people. News channels are more than willing to jump on the story and make it even bigger.  We live in interesting times where information flows faster and freer than ever before. The Gamestop Daily chart below shows what can happen when this happens.

Why Every Investor Should Own Hazardous Waste Stocks / Companies / Sector Analysis

By: Robert_Ross

There’s only one guy in history who’s built three Fortune 500 companies.

His name was Wayne Huizenga.

Wayne founded automotive retailer AutoNation. He was also instrumental in Blockbuster Video’s growth. He wisely sold his stake for $8.4 billion in 1994.

But Wayne’s crown jewel was Waste Management, Inc. (WM).

Waste Management is the largest trash collection, disposal, and recycling company in North America. It runs a very dirty but very profitable business.

The Boring Industry That Hands +500% Gains / Companies / Sector Analysis

By: Stephen_McBride

Smart hunters prey on the weak.

That may sound heartless, but lions instinctually know not to chase fast, young gazelles. Instead, they run down the old limping gazelle in the back of the pack.

Smart disruptors also target easy prey.

Amazon (AMZN) first went after bookstores like Barnes & Noble and Borders. What could be easier than selling books online? Books are easy and cheap to mail... don’t spoil like food... don’t come in different sizes like clothes... and book buyers rarely demand refunds.

Then there’s Netflix (NFLX). It didn’t challenge mighty Disney (DIS) right away. It went after the limping gazelle known as Blockbuster, a company that hadn’t evolved much in decades.

Panicked by the Yield Curve Inversion? Time to Load Up on This Stocks Sector / Companies / Sector Analysis

By: Robert_Foss

For about a week last month, the yield curve inverted for the first time since July 2006.

Prior to that, this happened in July 2000 and April 1989.

There’s a pattern here… each inversion hit about 18 months before a recession. In fact, the yield curve has inverted before every recession over the last 50 years.

As such, recession-proofing your portfolio is imperative for investors.

The good news is the yield curve inversion also means stocks should perform well in the short term.

The even better news is that I’ve found a sector that consistently outperforms the broader market after every yield curve inversion.

Construction Companies to Watch For in 2019 / Companies / Sector Analysis

By: Dylan_Moran

Build, build, build. The construction industry can help drive the economy of a certain nation, a collective of countries, and the world for that matter.

The construction sector is important because it generates jobs that spill over to other aspects such as spending, according to Dr. Sitsabo Dlamini in his graduate paper for the University of Reading. In Europe alone, the industry accounts for 9% of the whole region’s economy and generates 18 million jobs according to the European Commission (EC).

What Happens Next to Stocks when Tech Massively Outperforms Utilities and Consumer Staples / Stock-Markets / Sector Analysis

By: Troy_Bombardia

  1. The S&P 500 Information technology sector is up 33%…
  2. While the Utilities sector is down -8%….
  3. While the Consumer Staples sector is down -8%

Our research team wanted to alert our followers to the incredible opportunities that continue to present themselves in the current market.  While many people have been overly concerned about a market top and price rotation in the US majors, the Energy sector and many others have seen incredible price moves.

By: Chris_Vermeulen

Pay attention to the price movement of the transportation sector for a clearer picture of the future rally

If you have been reading and following are posts this year then you’ve seen the power of our Advanced Dynamic Learning price modeling system and how well we are able to find key market moves.  On Monday, the markets stalled, providing further evidence of the future breakout move.  The Banking Index was up 0.43%.  The $INDU was off by 0.06% while the ES, NQ and YM were mixed.  The Transportation Index was up 0.40% while the US Dollar is about to break above the $91.00 level on an attempt to move higher.  These moves are telling us that the US economy is about to break higher in an attempt to retest recent highs – just as our ADL predictive price modeling system has been warning.

Here’s Why The Defense Stocks Sector Is The Best Trade Today / Companies / Sector Analysis

By: John_Mauldin

BY PATRICK WATSON : September is not unfolding as expected.

Just a few weeks ago, this month was supposed to bring an angry stand-off in Washington and possibly a government shutdown or debt default. Those could still happen, but President Trump’s deal with the Democrats pushed it back to December.

And then we have the threat of nuclear war.
