The indices had a huge rally today, gapping up sharply at the opening, running hard in the morning, and then working their way steadily higher in a rising channel all session. Two Reasons the Dow’s Rally to 10,000 Will Keep Moving Higher / Stock-Markets / Stocks Bull Market
Jason Simpkins writes: The last time Dow Jones Industrial Average hit the 10,000 mark, it was plummeting from an all-time high of 14,163.53 as shell-shocked investors sought shelter from the worst financial crisis since The Great Depression. But this time around the blue chip index was on the upswing, surging 1.4% yesterday (Wednesday) to a close of 10,015.86.

Dow 10,000 Not a Bubble, Time to Abandon Old Stock Market Valuation Ideas? / Stock-Markets / Stocks Bull Market
One of my favorite comments on an article I posted on Seeking Alpha was on something I wrote in May earlier this year, it went like this:
"Wow...the more I look at this the more I think this is the worst piece of work I have seen in a long time…..big mistake, my friend…The baseline is just so wrong it screams! Ouch!”

Stock Market May Not Correct Until 2010 / Stock-Markets / Stocks Bull Market
Common sense and prudence say stocks must experience a significant correction soon. Unfortunately, waiting for a correction to participate in the current stock rally has proved highly frustrating for many market participants. While it may not be what investors sitting on large cash positions want to hear, market history says a significant correction in stocks may not occur until 2010.

Small Cracks in the New Stocks Bull Market / Stock-Markets / Stocks Bull Market
Fledgling bull markets are normally characterized by a series of internal gauges. Long-term shifts in capital spending between specific industry groups and asset classes have general occurred at the start of every new advance. For example, consumers become less defensive and start purchasing those items that they want but don't really need. Traders move out of safe fixed income assets and look for higher returns in stocks. All of these elements were present at the bottom of the last great bear market and the beginning of the next bull in 2002-2003. But they are still missing in this market.

Treat Any Stock Market Weakness as a Buying Opportunity / Stock-Markets / Stocks Bull Market
Claus Vogt writes: The seasonal market statistics are clear: September has historically been the worst month for stocks of the year. Plus it’s followed by October, the month of the most spectacular stock market crashes in history.
This is why many bears — who have actually gotten more visible again during the past few weeks — say it’s time to get out of the market now.

Deluge Ahead or Smooth Sailing for the Stock Market? / Stock-Markets / Stocks Bull Market
Many traders, given all the statistics, trends, and patterns at their disposal, have been reluctant to buy stocks for a while now. Momentum traders would contest, however, that by not buying, you would have missed out on some pretty decent gains for stocks over the past few months. It’s true- even your most reliable indicators often will tell you when to enter a trade, but they won’t always tell you how long a market may stay in a trend. The old axiom about the market remaining irrational longer than you can remain solvent comes to mind. But that begs the question: Is the market irrational here?

The Next Stock Market Panic is Here! / Stock-Markets / Stocks Bull Market
We’re in the midst of the next stock market panic and no one is paying attention.

Hey Professor Roubini! The Street Says The Dow Is Going to 15,000! Are They Nuts? / Stock-Markets / Stocks Bull Market
We didn't hear much talk about that "dead-cat-bounce-sucker-rally" recently, and all those guys with those pretty brightly-colored P/E ratio charts and pages and pages of verbiage predicting S&P 500 going to 450 seem to have disappeared along with the “Gold piercing $1,000 and on to the stratosphere” theorists. Perhaps they are on holiday?
