Sheffield Turns Coronavirus Tide, Covid-19 Infections Half Rest of England, implies Fast Pandemic Recovery / Local / Sheffield

By: N_Walayat

Hope you had a great start to 2021, 2020 the year of the Pandemic has finally coming to an end. However the chinese virus is not done with reeking havoc on the worlds population, at least in western nations with their ageing populations that for the likes of Italy stand at an average age of 45 against developing nations such as Pakistan with an average age of just 22 years which at least goes some way to explain why the covid crisis is just not as bad as it is in the West. Though India with an average age of 26 seems to be suffering that bit more than Pakistan is so this anomaly could be down to -

a. A weaker strain of the virus.

b. Less testing so most patients with covid are unrecorded much as was the case in the West during the March / April first wave of the chinese virus.

What about Britians fifth largest city Sheffield, where do we stand in this final pandemic wave catastrophe at the start of 2021?

By: N_Walayat

So what's like for a family living under lockdown in the UK where your not allowed to go out for more than a brisk walk around the neighbourhood. All in attempts to flatten the parabolic pandemic curve that saw over 500 deaths last week, with likely another 10,000 deaths to come this month before the curve is flattened through extreme shutdown measures.

Lib Dems Winning Election Leaflets War Against Labour - Sheffield Hallam 2019 / ElectionOracle / Sheffield

By: N_Walayat

The Lib Dems have declared war on Britain's letter boxes by stuffing them full with leaflets, many of which are a bit dodgy!

This is especially the case for those living in the Sheffield Hallam constituency where there is a battle between Labour and the Lib Dems that is likely to see Labour lose their seat to the Lib Dems after the disastrous term of Jared O' Mara. That follows the disaster that is the city council and it's anti climate change policy of felling thousands of Sheffield's street trees.

Unfortunately for Labour Jared O' Mara turned out to be a total disaster, heralding 2 years of chaos and failure to represent the constituents of Sheffield Hallam that included being suspended from the party, all at a time when the local population was in open revolt to the insane policies emanating out of the city council.

This video shows the 20+ sculptures as they were in July 2019, that includes footage of the artist at work so you get to see how these magical pieces of art were put together in situ, in the river. So if your in Sheffield then do pop down and see them whilst they last as all it take is a few days of heavy rain fall for the river Don to wash many of the 20+ pieces away.
