The first Sheffield tower block to be tested has failed a fire safety test that has prompted the city council to in a panic start to remove cladding from the Broomhall Hanover Tower Block today, though at the same time the council is reassuring residents that it is safe to remain in the block whilst the emergency removable of the cladding is underway. Whilst it could take upto 3 weeks for the cladding to ve removed and so the Council have offered temporary accommodation for those who want to move out.

And it is likely that many more of Sheffield's tower blocks will fail fire safety tests and thus also prompt an emergency removal of cladding.

Nationally so far of the 75 tower blocks tested, ALL have failed fire safety tests with at least another 525 tower blocks to be tested, which means as many as 7 Sheffield tower blocks could fail the fire safety test.

Then what?

What is going to happen post removal? Are they just going to leave them bare concrete again? If so, will they meet the regulations via insulation standards and climate regs etc that prompted their fitment in the first place?
