AI Tech Stocks TRAVELLING THROUGH TIME AT AN EXPONENTIAL RATE! / Companies / AI
By: Nadeem_Walayat
Many analysts refer to what happened decades ago to try and imply to expect similar today, what is it that they are blind to that ensures the past is not a good measure of the future? What they miss is the exponential nature of the trend we are upon! We are RACING THROUGH TIME AT AN ACCLERATING PACE! What not so long ago took decades now has been compressed into years! What not so long ago took years now takes months! That is the exponential AI mega-trend in a nutshell and it is ACCELERATING! Go back a thousand years and nothing much change for most folks for centuries! Go back 100 years and the changes would be measured in terms of decades! Go back 50 years and changes were measured in years! Today the pace of change is in the months! And yes it will become in the weeks! So how are we to capitalise on this exponential trend? By investing in the stocks that are making the trend become manifest, holding on with both hands as they whip through time at an exponential rate, clinging on as we watch those who SELL fall behind waiting for a dip to get back on board.

Why I’m Buying These “Boring” Tech Stocks / Companies / Tech Stocks
By: Submissions
By Justin Spittler : Is the bottom in?
It’s the most common question I’ve been getting.
At the time of writing, the Dow is coming off its best month since 1976. The S&P 500 is up 8% in four weeks. Many investors see this as an opportunity to get back into the markets.
As you’ll see, the markets haven’t give us the “all clear” yet.
But that doesn’t mean you should avoid all stocks. In this essay, I’ll show you where I’m putting my money today.

Are you Cut Out for Investing in Microcap Stocks? / Companies / Investing 2022
By: Stephen_McBride
By Chris Wood : I love microcaps. As a group, they generate 24.5% higher returns than bigger stocks, based off nearly 100 years of data.
They’re largely “undiscovered” by Wall Street, which means you can gain a real “information edge” 99% of the public isn’t privy to.
And unlike big stocks, you can get in on the “ground floor”... before the most explosive growth occurs.

By: Stephen_McBride
By Chris Wood : Have you ever been lucky enough to own a “tipping point” stock?
They can create extreme sums of wealth in relatively short periods of time.
The greatest tipping point stock in history handed early investors a 102,400% gain in 10 years. That turns every $1,000 invested into over $1 million.
We might never see anything quite like that again...

Quantum AI Tech Stocks Big Picture / Companies / Quantum AI Tech Stocks
By: Nadeem_Walayat
Just pause for a moment and take in the chart in the video, the message one should be receiving loud and clear is that I expect this bull market to run for many more years, whilst my best guess 2 years ago was that it would top in early 2027, as long as run away valuations moderated during 2022 then I don't see why this should still not remain the big picture, thus the bull market could extend to 18 years from it's March 2009 low!

The Only Stocks to Buy in a Recession / Companies / Investing 2022
By: Submissions
By Chris Wood : When you think of “recession-proof” stocks... what comes to mind?
Let me guess… toilet paper and toothpaste?
The widespread (but wrong) belief is companies that sell “essentials,” like Clorox or Johnson & Johnson, are the best way to ride out a recession.
No offense... but I’m not interested in making 5% on a toilet paper stock.

Due Diligence in Private Equity with Mark Hauser / Companies / SME
By: Sumeet_Manhas
There are twice as many private equity firms out there today than there were a decade ago, and private market assets under management have reached an all-time high of $6.3 trillion according to McKinsey’s Private Markets Annual Review. As the market continues to grow and competition along with it, firms must determine how to quickly and effectively evaluate potential deals and identify strong investment opportunities.
According to data from Teten Advisors, the median investor in private companies reviews over 80 opportunities in order to make a single investment. To determine whether an investment is worth pursuing or if it should be passed over all investors conduct a rigorous process known as due diligence, but in the case of private equity a number of unique challenges are presented. Target companies are typically not public, meaning that information typically available in more traditional investments such as SEC filings are not accessible. Additionally, the focus of a private equity company on profits for the fund requires a different perspective from other alternative investments.

Reshoring…
Remember this word…
You will hear it more and more as we near the November elections… and in the years to come.
It means to bring a business that was moved overseas back home to America.
You see, the era of moving US production to China for cheap labor is over.
The US and China have been political rivals for a long time. Now they’re increasingly becoming outright enemies. They have serious disagreements over Taiwan and the Russia-Ukraine war.
