Cramer Vs Stewart - The Daily Show Brawl Street Showdown
Politics / Mainstream Media Mar 17, 2009 - 07:18 PM GMT
The long awaited showdown between comedian Jon Stewart and the bigger Comedian Jim Cramer. Cramer cringes as Stewart refers to them both as snake oil salesmen.
The fault is with CNBC, as it could be a great tool for investors if only it were not in the pockets of the CEO's and advertising snake oil salesmen that frequent it's shows to promote their products and corporations instead of unbiased analysis, which is why the network has become a laughing stock and perceived as a Perma Bull network. However the argument that could be made that if the CNBC interviewers were not soft on the CEO's then they would not go on the channel for interviews, which is probably why Stewart does not get any CEO's on his show.
Where stocks are concerned, Cramer having recently thrown in the towel after the Dow had collapsed by near 50% could mean we may actually HAVE seen the bottom.
In the final analysis the successful traders that actually know what they are doing in the markets are busy sat in front of trading screens rather than prancing about in makeup rooms getting ready to spend the day in the TV studio's.
Now its not all one way traffic, as Jon Stewart to a degree also plays the snake oil salesman role, as many of his guests are on the show to either push their books or seek to increase their public exposure for political or celebrity reasons. So I guess Cramer Vs Stewart is more different shades of gray than black and white.
