PPI Refund Claims Scam / Nuisance Call Christmas Fun - Cold Callers Beware!

ConsumerWatch / Scams Dec 25, 2015 - 05:57 AM GMT

ConsumerWatch

If people actually answered the phone every time it rang then no one would get any work done! For the people of Britain, as amongst of most developed countries, are subject to a daily barrage of cold callers trying to sell or scam their way out of ones hard earned money or whatever one may be legitimately entitled and PPI cold callers must rank near the top of the nuisance / scam callers list.

Whilst I like most people usually just don't pick the phone up if I don't recognise the number or if it has been withheld, however at the back of ones mind is that this actually is an important call that needs to be taken, for instance many government agencies such as the NHS tend to use withheld numbers when making calls, so it's just not as simple as to not answer.

And then we have the Telephone Preference Service which purports to prevent nuisance calls but in my experience and probably in most peoples makes NO DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER! A totally useless service.

Cold calling idiots understand this -

1. You are NOT going to get ANY SALES!

2. Your wasting YOUR TIME, most calls will go straight to voicemail.

3. Do you liked being told to get lost or worse every day?

So what's the answer ?

We'll if you are upto a bit of entertainment then one could string the cold callers along for as long as you can or until one gets bored, which is what I like to do from time to time as the following video for a bit of Christmas fun illustrates.

Tip - How to get the cold caller to immediately hang up and not call you again! - "I am recording this phone call and will be uploading it to youtube".
