sitenews

David Coffin passed away unexpectedly on February 15th, 2012 at the young age of 56. Predeceased by his father Mervyn Coffin. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his mother Sandra Coffin and by his brothers Terry (Marlene), Ian (Myra) and Eric (Hilda) and by Meredith, Gaelan, Emma, Ben, Eric and Paul – the nieces and nephews he adored.

David was well known and widely respected as the co-editor of the Hard Rock Analyst publications. He was a man of integrity and honestly who dealt fairly and well with all that knew him. He was generous in spirit and in deed, valued his many friendships and always had time to offer advice and help to others. Friends will remember his acute intelligence and wry sense of humour. He loved to travel and his job took him to literally dozens and dozens of countries over the years. All of us who love him hope he’s now in Business Class on his way to a better place. A Funeral Service will be held for David on Saturday, February 25 at 10:00 AM at Guardian Angels Church, 1161 Broughton St, Vancouver, Fr. Boniface deSouza presiding. Interment to follow for the family at the Gardens of Gethsemani, 15800 32nd Avenue, Surrey.

In Lieu of flowers, the family gratefully acknowledges your donations to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation and/or to TheWaterProject.org/eric-coffin, a charity that builds clean water wells for African villages.

David Coffin and Eric Coffin are the editors of the HRA Journal, HRA Dispatch and HRA Special Delivery; a family of publications that are focused on metals exploration, development and production companies. Combined mining industry and market experience of over 50 years has made them among the most trusted independent analysts in the sector since they began publication of The Hard Rock Analyst in 1995. They were among the first to draw attention to the current commodities super cycle and the disastrous effects of massive forward gold hedging backed up by low grade mining in the 1990's. They have generated one of the best track records in the business thanks to decades of experience and contacts throughout the industry that help them get the story to their readers first.
