Are Institutional Stock Market Investors Buying or Selling Now?
Stock-Markets / Stock Markets 2011 Jan 24, 2011 - 04:00 PM GMTToday's chart is easy to understand. It is a daily graph showing the amount Institutional Investor Buying versus the daily amount of Institutional Investor Selling ... Accumulation versus Distribution.
Reading the chart is simple ... when the blue Buying line is above the red Selling line, then Institutional Investors are in Accumulation.
Conversely, when the red Selling line is above the blue Buying line, then Institutional Investors are in Distribution.
What are Institutional Investors doing now?
Well, you can see that the blue Buying line is above the red Selling line, so they are still in Accumulation. At the same time, the amount of Buying has dropped while the amount of Selling has increased, so they are showing decreasing Accumulation.
Don't try to guess that this decrease in Accumulation will end up with Institutions going into Distribution this week. The following has happened many times before: I have seen Institutions bring their Buying and Selling to a dead equal level and then reverse back up and start buying. Going against the Institutional Investors can be a costly endeavor.
