Asda Supermarket Milk Going Bad Early
ConsumerWatch / Corporate News Oct 08, 2007 - 11:54 PM GMT
In my experience over several weeks, the Milk being sold by Asda at its Sheffield store is consistently going off before the sell by date.
Okay so Asda promise a refund. But a 30 minute plus round trip journey costing about £4 in petrol just to return a £1.34, four pint bottle of milk or two is not acceptable, refund or no refund!
This is not a one off problem but something that is occurring after virtually every shopping trip. Perhaps Asda needs to look closer at their transit and back storage facilities to ensure that the Milk stays fresh by the use by date, let alone going off before the sell by date !
It has got to the point that I am thinking of traveling wider afield for our weekly groceries or switch to a non Asda brand milk.
Perhaps with winter around the corner the milk will stay good long enough to be drunk.
A casual search of the internet reveals that Asda's milk problem's appear to be more widespread and thus implies a weakness in their systems.
