Do We Need To 'Rebuild The US Military'? / ElectionOracle / US Military

By: Dr_Ron_Paul

The Republican presidential debates have become so heated and filled with insults, it almost seems we are watching a pro wrestling match. There is no civility, and I wonder whether the candidates are about to come to blows. But despite what appears to be total disagreement among them, there is one area where they all agree. They all promise that if elected they will "rebuild the military."

The Reflex to Flee Donald Trump's America Might be "no drill"! / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016

By: Michael_T_Bucci

If you are concerned about a Donald Trump presidency and have been suddenly struck with an impulse to leave America, you are not alone.

A website titled "Cape Breton if Donald Trump Wins" launched Feb. 16. Its front page splash read: "Hi Americans! Donald Trump may become the President of your country! If that happens, and you decide to get the hell out of there, might I suggest moving to Cape Breton Island!"

Republican Showdown Coming / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016

By: Stephen_Lendman

Since entering the presidential race last June, Trump shook things up like no other US aspirant in memory - turning an otherwise dull political season into a memorable one, for better or worse.

Republican party bosses want anyone but him. So do media scoundrels, becoming anti-Trump cheerleaders, going all-out to undermine his campaign, another reason to avoid them altogether.

Donald Trump: A Problem Even for Conservatives / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016

By: Walter_Brasch

The bully of the playground continued to be in the media spotlight and charging ahead to the Republican nomination for president.

In the 11th Republican debate, Donald Trump, bold and arrogant as always, kept up the attack against his three remaining opponents. To the man who once delighted in being called The Donald, Sen. Ted Cruz was “Lyin’ Ted,” a reference he made more than just a few times. However, several political fact checkers over the past three months have dismissed Trump’s claims as little more than half-truths, exaggerations, and lies. Politifacts, which checks candidate statements, revealed that about three-fifths of what Trump said during the campaign are incorrect. Among some of the errors Trump has made are that some of the families of the 9/11 suicide crews were in the U.S. prior to taking the lives of almost 3,000; that five detainees at Guantanamo Base, Cuba, whom Obama released were back on the battle field attacking Americans; that Mexico sent its citizens, especially criminals, into the U.S.; that the U.S., under the nuclear ban treaty with Iran, would be required to defend that nation if there was an attack by Israel; and that several polls show him ahead of Hillary Rodham Clinton. Several times over the past two decades, Trump has flip-flopped on issues, and then later claimed he hadn’t.

Super Tuesday Exit Polls Showed Voters Want Revolutionary Change / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016

By: Stephen_Lendman

America’s dysfunctional political system is too corrupted to fix. Ordinary Americans understand.

Half the electorate usually ops out, refusing to vote when no choices exist, no one for high office representing them.

Governance at all levels is unresponsive to their rights and needs. People want revolutionary change, yet remain unwilling to get actively involved.

France Threatens UK With Migrants War if British People Vote for BrExit Freedom from EU / ElectionOracle / EU_Referendum

By: Nadeem_Walayat

In the run up to Britain's EU referendum the true colours of the European Union are being revealed as FEAR and THREATS dominate the REMAIN camps agenda. Today we saw the British Prime Minister David 'Chamberlain' Cameron on a podium with President 'Napoleon Complex' Hollande, who proceeded to threaten Britain with a 'Migrant War', one of literally opening the flood gates of hell should the British people vote for Freedom from the emerging European Superstate (EUSSR).

Hillary Clinton Loves Goldman Sachs / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016

By: Stephen_Lendman

It’s hard imagining a more despicable candidate for any public office, unthinkable for the nation’s highest.

Her presidency, if elected, assures endless wars of aggression, possible confrontation with Russia and China, letting Wall Street, other corporate bandits and war-profiteers continue looting the nation’s wealth, as well as likely advancing tyranny to full-blown, stripping the mask entirely off constitutional governance.

Margaret Thatcher's Warning On The Euro And 'Federal Europe' In 1990 / ElectionOracle / EU_Referendum

By: John_Rubino

As the eurozone spins out of control and Britain considers leaving the European Union, this is a good time to recall some of the debates that led up to the current mess. Here's Margaret Thatcher being extraordinarily prescient about the common currency and European integration.

It's safe to say that many in Britain are glad that Thatcher and her intellectual successors opposed "a federal Europe" -- and that a growing number of Italians, Greeks and Spaniards wish they'd had Thatchers of their own.

Tory Elite Risk British Civil War By Stating Intentions to IGNORE BrExit LEAVE EU Referendum Result / ElectionOracle / EU_Referendum

By: Nadeem_Walayat

A string of senior tories have been making insidious statements declaring that a vote by the British people to LEAVE in the forthcoming EU Referendum does not necessarily mean that the Tory elite would take Britain out of the EU, instead statements have been made that it would be just used as a bargaining chip in future negotiations ahead of a SECOND referendum, and what if Britain votes to LEAVE again, will there be a third, fourth, fifth until the Tory elite get the result they want?

U.S. Presidential Campaign Political Marketing, Big Data and Google's Hillary / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016

By: Michael_T_Bucci

In the fledgling days of advertising over a century ago, legendary department store merchant John Wanamaker, an early proponent of the power of advertising, complained: "Half the money I spend on advertising is wasted; the trouble is I don't know which half."

It has been the goal of marketing and advertising chiefs ever since to answer his question.

More than $5 billion may be spent by presidential candidates and their supporters for the the 2016 race according to The Hill (thehill.com), which is double the tally for 2012. While much money will be spent on salaries, wages, fees and expenses for campaign workers, Kantar Media estimates that for all races political ad spending on TV will total $4.4 billion for the 2016 election cycle, and that another $1 billion will be spent on online ads.

Boris Johnson Joins LEAVE, BrExit Camp - Tory Rats Leaving Sinking REMAIN in EU Ship / ElectionOracle / EU_Referendum

By: Nadeem_Walayat

Boris Johnson woke up today and smelled the coffee that the British public are going to ignore the propaganda of the Westminister elite and instead vote for FREEDOM from the emerging undemocratic and corrupt European Superstate, and so Boris ignored David Cameron's increasingly desperate pleading to declare himself as now being in the LEAVE camp. Which follows a handful of senior ministers who declared yesterday and probably represent the vanguard of many more Tory rats to choose to LEAVE the Tory REMAIN sinking ship, that will likely see their captain, David Cameron's premiership go down with it.

EU Referendum - The British People vs Establishment, Bankster's and Westminister Elite / ElectionOracle / EU_Referendum

By: Nadeem_Walayat

David 'Chamberlain' Cameron returned from Brussels on Saturday to proudly stand outside 10 Downing Street and wave a piece of paper proclaiming 'Reforms in Our Time' to a skeptical British audience who have witnessed the farce of the past week that had seen each member state whittling down what were already pretty feeble proposals from David Cameron so as to prevent the 'contagion' of other EU member states following the same path as Britain which I likened to the EU effectively putting a gun to their head and then proceeding to pull the trigger, and so this is likely to turn out to mark the start of the end of the European Union.

Ego and the U.S. Presidential Primaries / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016

By: Walter_Brasch

Like millions of Americans in the middle of February I have the flu.

Unlike millions of Americans I have a deadline.

Forced to stay at home, sucking Vitamin C drops, I have read newspapers, listened to radio, and watched television as a source of diversion.

Dominating the media is the campaign for the presidency.

EU Commits Suicide as BrExit Referendum Leave Vote Looks Inevitable / ElectionOracle / EU_Referendum

By: Nadeem_Walayat

Today the European Union looked down the barrel of a gun and then pulled the trigger, as the self interest of individual nations prevailed, and most evidently by the Visegrad-4 (Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Czech Republic) that continued to put short-term greed ahead of long-term economic and political commonsense leaving David Cameron to emerge Friday Chamberlain style waving a piece of paper of "Reforms in Our Time".

Cameron FAILS - BrExit, Can Britain Break FREE of European Superstate? / ElectionOracle / EU_Referendum

By: Nadeem_Walayat

Prime Minister David Cameron will all but fail in his negotiations with the 28 european union member states, this despite surrendering virtually every red line of his already heavily watered down proposed deal with the European Union who stated would be non binding and only legislate for AFTER the the UK had voted to remain within the EU. Which the EU Parliament President clarified as implying that virtually every aspect of the deal would be subject to debate and amendment from the dozen or so eastern european benefits claiming states, who would likely decide to reject most of the so called UK deal that would effectively have been used as a smoke screen to hoodwink the British people into giving up their democracy and freedom.

U.S. Presidential Primaries - That’s All I Can Stands, I Can’t Stands No More / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016

By: Raul_I_Meijer

A week after the New Hampshire Presidential Primaries, what lessons, if any, can we take from the dramatic victories of two outsider candidates? Former New Hampshire resident and occasional Automatic Earth contributor Nelson Lebo weighs in.

Note: Nelson writes below that “Trumpification is a clear and present danger” for writers like me “who rely on the best available data, statistics, facts”. But so far I find Trump mostly amusing, and an excellent indicator of what America has come to. And there’s little he can do to make representation of the facts in the media even worse than it is. Turns out, it didn’t take Trump to Trumpify the media. It might well be the other way around, that the Dumbification of the press paved the way for Da Donald. Here’s Nelson Lebo III:

U.S. Presidential Campaign Slogans and Make Believe - ranking the best and the worst / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016

By: Michael_T_Bucci

It is common understanding that the phrase "seeing is believing" means "I won't believe something until I see it." I won't believe that ghosts or UFOs exist until I actually see one and only then if I've exhausted all other possible explanations.

When the adage "seeing is believing" is turned upside down, i.e., "believing is seeing". It means we often project onto an object, person or event a preconceived notion rather than see it for what it is.

BrExit - Visegrad Conspiracy, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Czech Refuse to give up Migrant Benefit Payments from Britain / ElectionOracle / EU_Referendum

By: Nadeem_Walayat

With single mindedness or madness the Visegrad conspirator nations of Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Czech Republic have refused to play along with the smoke and mirrors illusion that the European Commission has been constructing for David Cameron to hoodwink the British public into voting to remain within the EU. Instead all four conspirator nations are refusing to give up a single £1 in benefits payments from British tax payers to their citizens by flatly refusing any curb in child benefit payments claimed for several million children who reside in their home nations to the determent of British children in terms of a lower payout rate and tapering of child benefit than would otherwise be the case given an estimated 1/3rd of the budget is being siphoned off into eastern europe.

David Cameron Humiliated in Poland Over Refusal to Stop Taking UK Benefits, BrExit or Super State? / ElectionOracle / EU_Referendum

By: Nadeem_Walayat

The British Prime Minister, David Cameron within days of waving a white piece of paper 'Chamberlain' style received form the EU's Donald Tusk, has since been busy trying to put up a propaganda smoke screen of success of negotiations for the British public to swallow in the run up the UK's EU Freedom Referendum, literally seen begging Eastern European states to play a long with the charade so as to hood wink the British people into giving up their very final chance of attaining freedom from the emerging EU super state.

Were Iowa Caucuses Rigged? / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016

By: Stephen_Lendman

America is notorious for electoral rigging, fraud commonplace since at least the 1824 presidential race, the outcome called the “Corrupt Bargain.”

No winner emerged. Under 12th Amendment rules, House members decided, choosing John Quincy Adams after weeks of hard bargaining over Andrew Jackson, a future US president.
