Sheffield Darnall Local Election 2010 Result, Labour Tribe Turns Out to Crush Liberal Democrat Hopes / ElectionOracle / Sheffield

By: N_Walayat

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleGoing into the Sheffield City local election, the battle for Darnall and other Sheffield wards was expected to be extremely tight between Labour and the Liberal Democrats as a consequence of the Lib-Dems national 10% surge in the polls from 20% to 30% putting Labour into third place in many opinion polls which risked as many as a 1/3rd of Labour council seats being lost.

Darnall Community Health GP Surgery Could Close On NHS Spending Cuts / Politics / Sheffield

By: N_Walayat

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleA number of Sheffield GP surgeries including Darnall Community Health could face the axe on anticipated deep NHS spending cuts following the next general election. The British economy is in the midst of a deep debt crisis that risks a collapse into a hyperinflationary bust. The root of the problem lies in the fact that the UK government spends £180 billion more on public spending than it earns, i.e. government revenues are £500 billion, and government expenditure is £680 billion (2009-10 est). The deficit of £180 billion at 14% of GDP is not sustainable, which requires an urgent and near immediate cut in the deficit to below 6% of GDP to prevent igniting an out of control inflationary debt spiral.

By: Nadeem_Walayat

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleUpdated - 24th May 2009 - The Telegraph's day by day drip, drip release of MP expenses continues to claim scalps in response to outrageous claims which mainly centre around the flipping second residencies for the payment of mortgages and to enable multiple properties to be renovated and furnished at tax payers expense has angered voters that are especially seeking to punish Labour MP's (Polling 20% record low) who for decades had rammed down the throats of voters how they had socialist ideals, whilst their actual action's increasingly paint an opposite picture.
