The Invisible Power Behind the World's Best Stock Market Investments / Stock-Markets / Sector Analysis

By: DailyWealth

Porter Stansberry writes: Over the years, I've explained a lot of Wall Street's "secrets"...

I've explained how discounted bonds are sometimes vastly better investments than stocks. I've covered how selling naked puts is almost always safer and more profitable than buying stocks outright.

These concepts (and others) are critical to active investors. They all play a role in giving you the tools you need to increase your returns. You ought to know all about them and be able to use them tactically to take advantage of opportunities in the market.

By: Money_Morning

Michael A. Robinson writes: Thanks to two huge product rollouts in November, this holiday season will be one of the hottest ever for this massive slice of the high-tech sector.

That's because three giant companies are fighting it out - to the death - for the biggest piece of a $93 billion windfall.

Why the Gaming Stocks Sector Should Be on Your Investing Radar / Companies / Sector Analysis

By: Profit_Confidential

George Leong writes: With the upcoming release of new video consoles from Sony Corporation (NYSE/SNE) and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ/MSFT), the video game sector appears to be set to experience a revival, as my stock analysis indicates.

According to NPG Group, the U.S. sales of video game-related hardware, software, and accessories surged by 27% year-over-year to $1.08 billion in September. (Source: The NPD Group, Inc. web site, last accessed October 22, 2013.) The sale of software, specifically, surged 52% to $754 million, accounting for 70% of total sales. Yet with the debut of two new consoles in November (Sony’s “PlayStation4” and Microsoft’s “Xbox One”), my stock analysis indicates that sales in the hardware sector will pick up, giving a boost to the share prices of Microsoft and Sony.

My Favorite Stocks for Investing in the Expanding Coffee Market / Companies / Sector Analysis

By: Profit_Confidential

George Leong writes: I love the smell of coffee brewing in the morning—and in the afternoon and evening. As you can tell, I do enjoy my coffee—but I also like watching some of the market’s top coffee stocks.

At the top of my hit list in the coffee sector is Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ/SBUX), just because of its strong brand recognition not only in the United States but worldwide. Whether it’s in Asia, Europe, or Latin America, you can always find that familiar green Starbucks logo. If they are long-term in their investment strategy, there’s little chance an investor could go wrong with Starbucks.

U.S. Airline Industry - The Unfriendly Skies / Companies / Sector Analysis

By: Peter_Schiff

As if the federal government were not already doing enough to kill the U.S. airline industry with restrictive workplace rules, over-regulation, and a monetary policy that supports higher fuel prices, earlier this month anti-trust authorities at the Justice Department blocked the merger between American Airlines and US Air. (Unbelievably, the regulatory roadblock was thrown up more than a year after the two companies had agreed to terms, and after great expense has been incurred to integrate operations). Although long suffering investors had hoped that the merger would allow the beleaguered airline to finally exit bankruptcy, in the days after the surprise announcement, AMR stock almost fell as much as 60%.

By: Clif_Droke

After two years of winding down the U.S. military's presence in Iraq and Afghanistan, the rumblings of war are being felt in Syria. Calls for American intervention in Syria's civil war have been increasing lately, especially after reports indicate that Syria's government used chemical weapons on civilians.

According to a Reuters /Ipsos poll, 60 percent of Americans surveyed said they don't favor the U.S. intervening in Syria, even if it's confirmed that chemical warfare is being used in that country. Only 9 percent believe President Obama should act now.

A Tale of Two Car Manufacturers - Proton and Hyundai / Companies / Sector Analysis

By: Sam_Chee_Kong

Proton or (Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Berhad) was incepted in 1985 by the then Prime Minister of Malaysia with the hope that it will help Malaysia hasten its industrialisation program in order achieve a develop nation status by 2020.  Mahathir reckoned that to complement this vision a ‘national car’ program will be best option to fast track the process. His penchant for starting up a ‘national car’ program is partly due to the success of other countries in their ‘national car’ project which subsequently progresses into nurturing successful car manufacturers and a chain of parts suppliers. To understand a bit on the history of ‘national car’ we present below the time line of various country’s national car project.

Investors, You Need to Stick with the Cheap Retailers / Companies / Sector Analysis

By: InvestmentContrarian

George Leong writes: The retail sector continues to show decent growth, which is encouraging given the lack of strong jobs growth. The improvement in the housing market is helping to add some confidence to consumer spending and the retail sector. Retail sales in December grew 0.5%, above the 0.4% estimate made by Briefing.com. On an ex-auto basis, sales grew at 0.3%, which was the same as November, but below the Briefining.com estimate of 0.5%.
