Microsoft MSFT Q4 Earnings - Buy the Rumour Sell the News / Companies / Microsoft
MSFT - $242.6, EGF 0%, EGF12M 10%, PE 26.1, Fair Value 250
GPT Microsoft trading on 26X earnings not cheap when compared to it's Quantum AI tech stock brethren. However it is the cheapest it's been at for many a year having traded down to equal it's pandemic low valuation which also illustrates why many so called analysts waiting for the PRICE to revisit pandemic levels don't have a clue what they are doing. In terms of downside risk Microsoft is shouting that it is reluctant to trade down to $200, so in terms of buying the $228 to $208 range is the best one can expect to accumulate in. The EGF's say it all, 0%, and +10% whilst most are negative, thus is sowing the seeds for a resumption of it's bull market so I expect a positive response to earnings likely to increasing to boost their coffers by capitalising upon GPT3-4-5, that they hope can finally put a dent into the Google search money making machine, though I seriously doubt they will! I am currently 37% invested and will continue to seek opps to increase exposure to this primary AI tech stock.

MICROSOFT Stock Short and Sharp / Companies / Microsoft
If you blinked you missed the plunge on earnings! For most folks the best they could have got was about $277 via limit orders. I bought Microsoft in the green zone all the way down to $280, but got greedy with my big order at $274, not filled. so I remain stuck at about 18% invested of target exposure (1% of portfolio) as I still await the big buys to be triggered. Microsoft is reinforcing itself as a gaming giant by bidding $64 billion for Activision. To imagine that Microsoft is not going to have a big foot print in the meta-verse is a big mistake whilst they do have their own VR headsets however so far they are tethered to PC's apart form the augmented reality Hololens which I see as an expensive stop gap, so far behind where Facebook is.

Microsoft (MSFT) Stock Trend Analysis / Companies / Microsoft
3. MICROSOFT - $252.5
Microsoft is up 12% since my last update, and is now over priced on an EC of 70, against fair value of 55. Unless I am missing something, the stock needs to consolidate it's powerful advance before considering going higher as it is not healthy for a stock to keep becoming more expensive. Maybe it's the 2.1% dividend yield that's attracting investors? But on an EC of 70 it is a little expensive for my taste. Not a good buy at current levels so the Buy % is 35%.

MICROSOFT Transforming from PC Software to Cloud Services AI, Deep Learning Giant / Companies / Microsoft
This analysis will now seek to update potential buying levels for AI stocks during Q2 of where stocks could trade down to in terms of technical support levels during the anticipated general stock market correction of about 15% that should be imminent.
Top 5 AI Stocks are all primary, the ordering of which is arbitrary for instance of the 3 Google, Amazon and Microsoft it's a toss up of which comes first. For instance If I was compiling the list today then I would likely put Amazon at No1 ahead of Google. So keep in mind that the rankings are more in terms of primary, Secondary and Tertiary rather than their number order.
3. MICROSOFT (MSFT)
I have owned microsoft stocks for over 2 decades! So a favourite of sorts. Yes it was dead for a decade but as soon as the world started waking up to AI in the Mid 2010's it started rocketing higher, literally going parabolic, a trend that continues to this day!

Year to date it’s even worse at 1.79%.To say the company has struggled to stay innovative amid competition with the likes of Apple and Google is an understatement. Bill Gates Says he's 'very happy' / Companies / Microsoft
Bill Gates sat down with Bloomberg Television anchor Erik Schatzker at the Sibos conference in Boston today, where they discussed Microsoft's strategy, the Ebola outbreak, his philanthropic efforts, financial payment systems in Africa and more.
On whether Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is moving fast enough, Gates said, "I'm very happy with what he's doing. I see a new sense of energy. There's a lot of opportunity there, some things the company isn't the leader on, and he sees that he needs to change that."
On Ebola hitting the U.S., Gates said, "...the fact that this Dallas patient was identified, the contacts are being traced, I feel confident the CDC is very much on top of that. I wish every country had a health system like that...the US government's really stepping up on this and I think that is going to let the world get on top of it."

A federal judge recently agreed with the US government that Microsoft must turn over its customer data that it holds offshore if requested in a search warrant. Microsoft had refused because the digital content being requested physically was located on servers in Ireland.

Nokia Deal Could Mark the Last Chapter for Microsoft / Companies / Microsoft
As a value investor I used to spend a great deal of time in Microsoft hell – on one hand there was the company with enormous cash flows, an incredible return on capital, a huge moat, a cash-rich balance sheet, and trading at single-digit multiples (if you adjust for cash). But on the other hand it threw away cash away for multi-billion-dollar acquisitions, followed up by inevitable write-offs. Its founder and chairman was not interested in running the company, so he delegated to his best friend, who has been wrong at every single technological inflection point, and quite frankly not a very good leader. Every few years the company airbrushes its old products (think of Office), calls it an upgrade, and goes on charging subscription fees; but new products quite frankly … suck. Microsoft's competitors are getting better, and while a strong balance sheet helps in bad times, it is not a competitive advantage against competitors that have even more cash.

Why Windows 8 Made Me Sell Microsoft Stock / Companies / Microsoft
I sang love serenades to Microsoft in the December issue, but a few weeks ago we sold our shares of Microsoft. Because we believe the stock is undervalued, that decision was not easy. What changed? A very important part of my thesis was the success of Windows 8, an operating system that Microsoft made for both PCs and tablets. When I saw Windows 8 demonstrated in early 2011, it looked like a very innovative, un-Microsoft-like product. Windows 8 was very important for Microsoft’s response to Apple’s iPad — a tablet that was deservingly stealing market share from low-end laptops. Windows 8 was supposed to take Microsoft to the next level, leapfrogging Apple and Google.

Microsoft Is Not as Boring as it Appears / Companies / Microsoft
I am bored and exhausted. I am on my third cup of coffee, but my lack of excitement has not changed, as I am about to explain why the sleepiest, most boring stock in the universe—Microsoft Corp.—offers a very compelling reward with very reasonable risk.
Microsoft was the bright light in the tech firmament in the 1980s and ’90s. Then it got too successful, overconfident, lazy and uncreative, and started making bad products and wasteful acquisitions. Worthy competition eventually emerged from the likes of Apple and Google, and Microsoft had to fight for its existence and relevance.
