Virgin Media Ruins Boxing Day Online Sales - Broadband Down ALL DAY in UK Wide Failure!
ConsumerWatch / Internet Dec 26, 2017 - 07:46 PM GMTVirgin Media broadband has become progressively less reliable during 2017. With today's outage being the icing on the cake of a year of failures! At the very peak of the years sales frenzy season, Boxing Day that will have seen over 10 million of Brit's surfing online for sales Bargains to grab. Unfortunately not for Virgin media customers, where an early morning outage of a few hours has turned into a day long outage with no end on site of when virgin media broadband will start to work for its customers.
The estimated fix for this morning outage was extended to past store closing time during the afternoon as the following service update shows.
Furthermore the following UK map illustrates the magnitude of the broadband outage that Virgin Media is currently experiencing, as it appears to be a major nationwide failure, virtually across the whole of Virgin Media's national broadband network.
So unlike the usual pockets of outages, today's outage appears widespread and may not bode well for future usage of a virgin media services that until a few months ago had proved very reliable, but clearly something is going very seriously wrong at Virgin Media which could be related to over selling of the cable broadband services coupled with a breakdown of its installed infrastructure.
Whilst at the time when today's fix was supposed to been completed has now seen the fix pushed forward to 11am, 27th December, what's the odds it will be pushed forward once more as Virgin Media's estimated time for fixes prove pretty much worthless.
Anyway, it appears to be approaching the time when I will have to start searching fro a reliable alternative to Virgin Media, because broadband being down for 24 hours is totally unacceptable, as is the perpetual failure to fix the network which will likely continue to be outwardly revised on the virgin media status page.
