Market Forecast 2016: Technology a Huge Player

Companies / Tech Stocks May 19, 2016 - 06:18 PM GMT

Companies

It is being forecast that 2016 is going to see huge advances in technology and if anyone is looking for a place to invest, technology would be the place to start. Technology is infiltrating every aspect of our lives from the clothes we wear to smart gadgets for home and play, if you can buy it, technology had a hand in producing it. According to the Deloitte group of member firms, the backbone of the digital economy is the technology sector and this is where they forecast the most growth this year and probably every year going forward.

Everyone’s Gone Digital

When seeking to understand why technology is a sound investment, it’s important to understand that literally every industry has gone digital. Consider events in 2008 and 2009 when analog television would no longer be broadcast. If you had an analog TV set at that time you needed to purchase a special device to convert analog signals to digital or your television simply wouldn’t work. At the time, just five or six years ago, everyone was in a state of panic if they hadn’t recently bought a digital television. Today few people even remember analog TV sets and a new generation of kids wouldn’t know how to tune one if their lives depended on it. This is just one small indicator of how digital technology has affected our lives and why the technology sector is going to continue growing for the foreseeable future.

Cloud Computing Opens Doors

With the advent of cloud computing, greater numbers of hi tech companies have been able to establish a strong presence on the web without the need to manage their own in-house servers. They can store as much or as little data as they’d like, easily collaborate with other techies around the globe and even run a huge global enterprise because everything is accessible from any location and from any mobile device, as long as the user has access privileges. Building a huge website is no longer as expensive as it once was and that’s why greater numbers of businesses are taking advantage of an online presence to build their brand. Because of the Cloud, hosting companies can offer literally unlimited gigabytes of storage that can be ‘filed’ away on different servers as one begins to reach current capacity.

All Eyes Are on Healthcare Technology

The current trend in healthcare is in finding ways to improve patient to provider communications. Technology is at the center of this issue as greater numbers of app developers are now tailoring apps that measure vitals such as heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen and glucose levels in real time. By producing wearables that communicate with healthcare providers via a mobile device and a healthcare app, patients can now be proactive in their own healthcare while resting assured doctors can keep better track of metrics that need to be continually monitored.
If you are looking for a place to invest your money, any area of technology is a good bet but healthcare seems to be growing strong. This is the year for major advances in technology that can be multi-billion dollar ventures. Want an investment that promises a strong future? Technology is your answer.
