The Hydra Threat
Destroying all memory of the past, for example by saying “history is dead”, is a common thread of apocalyptic and millenarian cults as well as the Bible.  It is a powerful drug for diluting and smothering social perception and acceptance of change, except mythical and fantasist change. This is the exact opposite of the Global Reset promised (or threatened) by for example Agenda 21 and the NWO.

In our western societies of today, distancing what are in fact recent events is now necessary due to the cringing fear of change, almost a mass psychosis. One major example is the collective perception, by 2014, of events “as far back as 2011” and what was soon dubbed Arab Spring. These “street theater” events unfortunately gave more proof that western paradigms are collapsing, and quickly produced what this always produces in our society of Unknowing  – shock, incoherence, rejection.

The process of trivializing and distancing these events presented Arab Spring on the one hand as splendid open air street riots proving that aspirations for western-democracy are everywhere. The riots proved that the west, even in its present weakened state is still the global model or archetype. On the other hand it was proof that the Arab dictators and tyrants shoehorned into power, or at least tolerated by the west, and obediently serving the west were finished. Reality shock is fatal!

In French they say “kif-kif”. It was a zero sum game, in fact. There were no winners. Egypt very rapidly slumped back to what it had been for decades under air force general Mubarak - a military dictatorship and police state. With a wink and a nod from the western elites handing over the poisoned gift of Egypt to Saudi Arabia, with its long-proven ability at running a police state, Egypt was now “in safe hands” and could be completely forgotten..The street theater was over.

But this in no way stopped the Arab Spring riot-process from gaining traction, in fact the rapid way that dictatorships like that of Mubarak or Zineddine ben Ali in Tunisia, or even Gaddafi in Libya were winkled out of power, with a little NATO military persuasion in Gaddafi's case, was almost certainly and surely an encouragement for other street rioters. The die was cast. The state can be overturned quite fast, even if nothing at all happens afterwards – except low level civil war, economic collapse and the return of old generals or new theocrats. The flash mob will retire to its ghetto high rises and fast food outlets, stay unemployed, play with Internet social networks on the cellphone, and get back to the business as usual of doing nothing. Political aspirations, as they are called, trace a perfect boom-slump. From nothing back to nothing.

This is the real western model.

Western interest in flash mob rebellions soon flagged. The event and process of mass street demonstrations overthrowing the “sitting regime” was de-learned and erased from the social memory hard disc. The street scenes with fireworks and laser lightshows before the riot troops moved into action, and then moved back to barracks, were now uninteresting to western consumers of MSM (mainstream media) news-pap.

Threshold Of Insanity
The process had reached its threshold of tolerance for the MSM for reasons as simple as “What happens when the flash mob arrives here at home?”. Kiev in Ukraine gave them the answer! The flash mob shifted to overthrowing elected western constitutional governments, not shaky Middle Eastern dictatorships.

Intense unknowing or de-learning was therefore heavily needed. From the start, with three precious years of experience since 2011, western MSM set out to hide, confuse or de-learn the main fact – the Kiev riots were simply an organized political coup. Not knowing this was essential because the event was “Freedom if not Democracy”!

This certainly widened the playing field, the tilted field on which western paradigms  and values are thrown around like a bag of mercury thrown on the floor. The shiny beads fly far, wide and anywhere – which is the anarchic essential of Unknowing. The so-called “social referential” or framework of western society, with set and fixed ideas about what government means, could be diluted, distanced and then dumped.

By 2014, western consumers of pap fed to them by the MSM had to accept that overthrowing democratic government is as normal as chasing a dictator from power. To be sure the secret question was and is: Why not do it at home?

One key European philosopher of apocalyptic and millenarian causes, Friedrich Nietzsche claimed that insanity is rare in individuals, “but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule”. However, in the 1860s when he spoke there was nothing like today's Flash Mob Culture of Internet social networks and the steady extinction of the individual that is both a cause and result of Mass Unknowing. Using the claim of a much earlier philosopher, Rene Descartes that “I think therefore I am” this can be turned on its head in our deconstructed and destructured western society of today, where the individual who avoids thinking has a higher survival value - “I do not think therefore I am normal”.
The threshold of individual as well as collective madness is near, even if this individual insanity is of a special numbed-down and dumbed-down type.
Modern western society does not care much for the individual when it concerns highly-symbolic New Social Myths such as the national interest, public policy, the economy and the common good. Relegated to the status and role of “comfort belief”, we have lip service attention paid to the democratic and human rights of the individual, and similar Old Paradigms. To be sure this is only dimly perceived and never openly discussed, certainly not on the MSM, where hinted-at State-level collective goals, and even supranational versions of these like the UN's Agenda 21 and the NWO are above all fuzzy-edged and of extreme low credibility, and therefore are in no way perceived as a threat.
The major point is these “high level goals of collective society” do not exist. They do exist for the booming conspiracy theory genre, of course, but they are unreal to the point of madness. To be sure these vaporous plans and vapid goals are presented as moral and upright, when they are rarely described by anything more than a few slogans and catchphrases, but firstly they do not exist and secondly there is no opt-in / opt-out choice if or when the individual took them seriously.

Rage and Despair
Remaining intellectual in western society can rage at what looks like a gigantic plan and program to enslave the individual in society but we have to face facts. Roughly fifty percent of the population in most “western democracies” today are directly receiving some form of payment or benefit from the government and its agencies, and this ignores the huge numbers, sometimes millions of workers employed in “zombie industries' that only exist due to state subsidies. This is a real and ultra powerful web of collective economic madness but betrays no Central Plan. The crony or zombie un-system emerged like fog along a rocky path – that we travel at night! Unknowing in our deconsolidated society enabled the zombie economy to emerge. And nobody is in control.

Of course we know this is so fragile that it is totally unsustainable, but individual and collective amnesia and schizophrenia have allowed the sombre farce to stumble forward. This the real meaning of the neolib slogan belted out by Mrs Thatcher more than 30 years ago - “There is no alternative”.

Also of course, there is a vast difference between “fait accompli” and “laisser faire”, but the one begets the other under delinquant and dysfunctional regimes. The roots of individual and mass schizophrenia in western society are deeply-entrenched and we have to face up to that fact.

We might believe that what I call The Great Unknowing is only a periodic but massive upsurge of individual and collective dementia but the evidence suggests otherwise. It suggests that a wide-area or nearly total process of de-learning, amnesia, denial and rejection of even the concept of society, let alone “free market capitalism” and other supposed attributes of western society, like democracy and how to change government has emerged - by default and by design.

The net result, by design and by default is that the rational bases of society “as we knew it” are broken and will need intense reconstruction effort. How this happens does not have a road map and we can only surmize what actions, events and processes will move this rebuilding effort along.
