Will AMD Stock Price FOMO to $150? / Companies / AMD

Not in the same league as Nvidia in terms of being in a blow off top. but for one stock that I had heavily bought I have taken this FOMO rally to SELL HARD down to 97% invested as all of the limits I had placed right up to $125 have been executed. Yes, AMD could go a lot higher during this FOMO run maybe as high as $150, we will only know with the benefit of hindsight.

Nvidia Blow Off Top - Flying High like the Phoenix too Close to the Sun / Companies / Nvidia

Nvidia has gone nuts! EGF's are very strong at +44% and +84%, too strong! Discounting too much growth. I know Nvidia well and yes there is very high demand for their AI Chips, but many of their most recent GPU releases i.e. the RTX 4070 and RTX 4060Ti are POOP in terms of price per performance i.e. one is better of buying last gen than their most recent releases. And then we have the 127X P/E ratio for a stock trading on a market cap of $967 billion! So I sold 12% at $383, and I am now just 2% invested.

S&P 4133 - The stock market is clearly counting down to a major move after having gone nowhere for near 3 weeks, largely stuck in a range of mainly between 4150 and 4120. There is the Fed Meeting on 3rd May when the Fed is expected to raise rates by 0.25% that now carries 83% probability and then there is Apples earnings after the next days close (4th May), where Apple stock represents a ridiculous 7.2% of the S&P index so where Apple goes so does the rest of the market and thus is the focus of this analysis.

Despite the stock market falling as expected many target stocks have stubbornly resisted correcting to any significant degree which is probably due to flight to safety to AI tech stocks, the likes of Nvidia, AVGO, TSMC whilst others appear to have fully embraced the panic and fallen hard such as GPN where I was already over invested to 128% going into the correction but now after the free fall below $100 stand at 150% invested, Further across the board mostly small buys have lifted my exposure to 87.8% invested 12.2% cash accumulating into Google, Amazon, Qualcom, Micron, IBM, JNJ Pfizer, and higher risk stocks - GPN, KLAC, CARA, ULH. amongst others.

Is big tech in trouble?

Amazon (AMZN) just announced it will fire 9,000 workers. This brings its total for the year up to 27,000.

Facebook (META) is downsizing, too. A couple weeks ago, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a second round of layoffs. He already let 11,000 people go in November. Now, he’s firing another 10,000.

Earlier this month, Google (GOOGL) said it’s letting 12,000 employees go.

And Microsoft (MSFT), Shopify (SHOP), Salesforce (CRM), and others are getting rid of thousands more.

In total, US tech firms announced over 100K layoffs since the start of the year.
