Land Rover Discovery Sport Oil Dash Service Warning Message / ConsumerWatch / Motoring

Land Rover's sales pitch is that the Discovery Sport's first service is due at 21,000 miles or 2 years, thus saving owners on expensive services. That and their service packs only tend to cover for 1 service every 2 years which may be the reason for the 21,000 miles service sales pitch. Unfortunately on the one hand there's the sales pitch and then there's the reality of what to actually expect when owning and driving a Land Rover Discovery Sport as there exists a wide gap between the two.
For instance, the internet is littered with comments about how warnings are popping up on owners dashboards requesting an oil service for a potential multitude of reasons such as diesel getting into the engines? which in some examples services are being requested at less than 7,000 miles! So I decided to track the service indicator for my HSE Black for when the car would request a service and this is the resulting video that all DISCO Sport owners should take note of, that they should NOT rely on the 21k sales pitch but check their service mileage indicator on a regular basis, else risk being in for an unexpected dash shock message!

Alton Towers vs Thorpe Park, Car Parking and Exit Driving Experience / ConsumerWatch / Theme Parks

Were now well into the summer holidays so families will be busy planning multiple day trips to Britains theme parks, where the number 1 UK operator is the Merlin group with it's 32 theme parks and attractions including 10 or so in and around London, where there two biggest and most popular theme parks are Thorpe Park situated in Stains. And Alton Towers near Derby. However, motorists need to be fully aware that the car park facilities are not all the same, as this video illustrates the difference between Alton Towers and Thorpe Park, especially when visitors attempt to leave the park after it closes.

The theme parks latest attractions feature the Walking Dead Ride and the Walking Dead Live Experience. Unfortunately the zombie nightmare continues even AFTER the park rides have closed as the park becomes a dangerous nightmare to escape! So motorists need to be fully aware of the nightmare that is this theme parks car park truly is! As was our recent experience when we visited Thorpe Park for the first and LAST time!

In this video I answer the question of just how closely Land Rover Discovery Sports fuel economy compares against Land Rovers 53.3 MPG sales pitch, as knowing what a car will actually do under real driving conditions is a very important consideration when buying any new car. This test is of driving 1100 miles in ECO Mode so as to maximise fuel economy of what to expect from a 18 month old Land Rover Discovery Sport that has done about 14,000 miles from new where the driving was approx 50% on motorways (50-70 mph) and the balance on city driving.

Close Look at Hanging Bar 2 Minute Challenge Rotating / Spinning Bar / ConsumerWatch / Theme Parks

Summers here and everyone's off to the theme parks where your likely to come across the 2 Minute Hanging from a Bar Challenge to win a big toy prize or even cash! Should be easy enough, but only one problem, the bar rotates / spins! Which makes it that much harder to hold onto for the duration of the Challenge as opposed to a normal fixed bar.
So here we take a close look at the actual bar, to see how much it actually spins, and several things instantly stand out as you will see in the video such as that the bar is ultra smooth! Here's a report on what the Land Rover Discovery Sports rattling / knocking sounds are like that emanate from one or more of the car's pillars when driving, usually at it's noisiest from the passenger side pillar C. Britains biggest car maker Jaguar Land Rover has axed 1000 jobs from their Midlands car factories following a 26% slump in sales on Brexit and Diesel engines future uncertainty and the emissions scandals that will now bring the JLR work force to under 40,000. The Job losses will virtually wholly hit the Range Rover and Discovery range of vehicles, a huge loss of demand that on an annualsied basis would translate into a loss of demand of more than 150,000 vehicles on total 2017 sales of 620,000.

ISupply Energy is one of many small gas and electricity suppliers to UK customers at generally competitive prices. Unfortunately they are able to achieve their competitive prices through having far less overheads in terms of systems in place to manage their customer accounts. I say unfortunately for when things go wrong then communicating with the likes of Isupply energy is literally like talking to a brick wall as has been my experience over the past 18 months as an electricity customer.
So why I am not happy if their electricity prices are competitive against the likes of the bigger players such as NPower, British Gas and Scottish Energy?

This is my comprehensive review of what's the good, bad and ugly of a Land Rover Discover Sport after owning and driving HSE Black trim for over 3 months, of what to expect if you are considering buying one as it does take a few months of real world driving before one is fully aware of the cars good, bad and ugly points, such as the pretty feeble plastic trim that tends to surround Discovery Sports, the rattling sound that many owners tend to experience again apparently from poor quality trim.
