Cineworld Star Wars the Force Awakens NOT for Tesco Clubcard Voucher Customers

ConsumerWatch / Shopping Dec 18, 2015 - 04:31 PM GMT

ConsumerWatch

Star Wars the Force Awakes with near unanimously good reviews looks set to become one of the biggest movie hits of all time, and so is encouraging many less frequent cinema goers to pay a visit to their local cinema's such as Cineworld, preferably to watch the movie on the biggest IMAX screens in 3d for the full Star Wars effect.

However, Tesco clubcard holders looking to utilise their vouchers towards purchase of cineworld tickets may be in for a time wasting nightmare experience, as Cineworld at the present time appears to not accepting valid cineworld Tesco vouchers QR codes for at least online bookings which results in the following message -

Which means the simple straight forward process of booking advance tickets online by inputting the 17 digit QR codes is presently not working which means a time wasting visit to the local cineworld, standing in line to book the tickets that's if cineworld accept the Tesco clubcard vouchers as it would be relatively easy to pass the buck back to Tesco.

So if your either contemplating utilising your Tesco clubcard's towards purchasing cineworld tickets, or are already desperately trying and failing to make an online booking, understand that your not alone.

Hopefully this issue will be rectified soon, in which respect we will post an update in the comments section below.

Cineworld Tesco Update

On contacting Tesco and further research, the conclusion is that the cineworld website is very tempremental if not unstable. As near 24 hours after first attempts, the system appears to work today as also tested with a new release of vouchers so it is not just a delay recognising issued vouchers.

The conclusion is that there are days when the cineworld website refuses to accept tesco and probably other vouchers, in which case give it a full day and try again.

This is indicative of a cinewold website that consistently lacks the capacity to cope with user load. Which also manifests itself in delays and time outs when attempting to make bookings.
